1Day: Ouarzazate > Skroura > Rose Valley > Dades Gorges> Toudra gorges
On the first day of our journey, we’ll begin with a morning visit to the Kasbah of Amridil in Skoura, a captivating oasis in Morocco. Transitioning through the Valley of Roses, known for its vibrant May rose festival, we’ll then reach the Dades Gorges. Along the way, we’ll embark on a brief exploration of the typical caves inhabited by nomadic people. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the gorges, followed by a short hike (a 1-hour walk) to immerse ourselves in their beauty. Dinner and an overnight stay await us in a characteristic riad nestled at the Todgha Gorges.
Day2: Toudra Gorges> Merzouga Desert
On the second day, our journey continues as we set out in the morning towards the captivating dunes of Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at an archaeological site boasting numerous prehistoric fossils. Following this intriguing exploration, we’ll enjoy lunch in Rissani, a quaint Berber village adorned with an ancient Kasbah.
In the afternoon, our adventure unfolds as we reach the enchanting Merzouga. A highlight of the day awaits as we embark on a camel ride to witness the mesmerizing sunset over the dunes. As the day comes to a close, we’ll indulge in a delightful dinner and spend the night in Merzouga, nestled within a nomadic bivouac in Erg Chebi. An evening filled with traditional Saharaoui desert music will add a magical touch to our desert experience.
Day3: Merzouga Desert > draa Valley > Ouarzazate
On the third day, our 3 days desert trip from Ouarzazate unfolds with a departure from the captivating Merzouga as we make our way towards Ouarzazate. En route, we’ll traverse the charming Berber villages of Anif and Tazarine, each adorned with beautiful palm groves and sites showcasing petroglyphs and pre-Islamic tombs.
Our exploration takes us through the picturesque Draa Valley, offering glimpses of its scenic beauty. As we wind our way back, we’ll immerse ourselves in the cultural richness of the region. The day concludes with our return to Ouarzazate in the evening, marking the end of another day filled with cultural discoveries and breathtaking landscapes.
